-YEC Workplan Retreat

Once a year, Tampines East CC YEC will have a workplan retreat in order to plan the activities one year ahead. This time it is my first time in the retreat and it is at Downtown East Costa Sands.

Saturday(06/01/2006) morning, i was busy doing all my project, then in the afternoon my mom asked me to go out with her to buy stuff. As we were going to Four Leaves at Tampines Mall, i saw Esther,Ee Sheer, Jia Yi, Alvin and Steven outside Four Leaves. They were waiting for each other. I chatted with them a while before i went to join my mom again. Then as me and my mom was approaching NTUC at Tampines Mall, somebody tapped me and i turned back and saw that it was Dr. Ken and later i saw Michael, Hilmy and Hyder beside him. As i felt that since so many of the YEC people are already there, i might as well join them, therefore i waved goodbye to my mom and went along with Dr. Ken and the rest to Pizza Hut.

While at Pizza Hut feasting on our pizzas, we talked about committee work and also some jokes. One joke was about what Muslim cannot eat. Amazingly, this is the first time i know that other than pork, muslim cannot eat amphibious creatures. Then someone, i think is Alvin, asked if muslim can eat mudskipper or not. At first Hilmy answered his question, then he realised that no one eat mudskippers. So the joke begins. Then it becomes the debate on whether what is considered a fruit or vegetable just because Ee Sheer did not eat her green pepper. Funny that such a small matter can lead to a joke.

Then we took 3 separate cars to the chalet. For me, i took Dr. Ken's car to the chalet. the few of us sqeezed into the car, though it is quite big, but the number of people made it squeezy. Then Sumi

Reminded of the Past

Now, at the time of 2012 hours, i am still in school in front of the computer doing my project. Time passed by quick as i do my project, alone. Damn, just ate a cup of noodles and an ice-cream which i bought from the 7-11 in my school. Cool man, this is the first time i ate cup noodles in school.

In the morning, i was revising my Business Accountings when suddenly i opened my handphone and began looking through some videos. That was a grave mistake. I saw one video that totally spoilt my mood to study. I saw her video and kind of lost my will to study and beginning to think of my past. About her and some of my other past. It was quite painful to think of that though. I took one wrong step in the past and ended up what i am now. Things are too late to change now. I hope i was given a second chance, but i knew everything's too late to change.

Before i start to do my projects, i was at my Aikido clubhouse, waiting for my committee to arrive for a meeting. But it turned out there was a mis-communication among the committee and no one actually turned up for the meeting. Damn, what a waste of my time. To think that i had came out early especially for this meeting. But in any way, i was partly at fault because i did not ensure the right information was passed around.

But anyway, Chou Meng, Rui Lin, Xin Yuen came. They were there because there was a rehearsal for Aikido to demostrate our martial stances at the Singapore Polytechnic Open House or which they called it the Spinnovex. Anyway, we chatted and laughed at some jokes in the clubhouse when Rubina called me to ask whether i was in the clubhouse. I told her to meet me at the plaza of the school instead as i was going there too. By the way, the plaza is also the area where we will be demostrating.

I went there right after i hung up the phone. Once i reached the plaza, i saw some staff trying their very best to make sure things go well for the Open House. I was alone at that time, so i had no idea who to look for. I just waited at the side. Finally, i saw Rubina walking towards the plaza. I was about to go towards her when my handphone rang. I thought it was Rubina and picked it up when i discovered it was Adnan. He asked me where i want to meet him. I told him to come to the plaza and hung up. Then, coincidentally, Rubina called me. I was quite puzzled as she was right in front of me a few moments again and she still needed to call me. As expected, she asked where i am. I told her my exact location before she spotted me and hung up. At the same moment, Adnan came.

After that, i went to look for a female staff who looked like one of the organizers, but was told that she was not the one in charge of me. She told me to wait and i waited again. Finally, she found the in charge and informed the in charge that i was waiting for her.

After some racking out, i figured out the demostrating grounds and all the stuff i needed for my club to carry out the demostration.

When we were moving some mats back to the clubhouse, the in charge called me Jason and i was quite puzzled. At first i thought she was calling someone else, but later i found that she was talking to me. I told her that my name is Alex but she looks like she did not hear it. But heck care. After that, my club members who heard it kept on calling me Jason. I expected that nevertheless.

After that, it was the same thing then on until now. Nothing much though. Finally i can go home to have a good rest before i need to rush my projects again tomorrow! Good Night!

Tampines East CC YEC Christmas Carnival 2006

It was a relief for me when the carnival finally ended. It was a tough time going through all the harsh plannings, but we all made it through and i felt that it was a success, though not many people came. Maybe it was because of the rain. But in any case, i learnt a lot through out this whole planning. That's one of the achievements i got from this carnival.

Reached the CC office in the morning at around 8.45am. Met Cheryl and Hui Hui on the way up. They were there very early because they need not really need to be there so early. Anyway, i just went up to the office located at the 3rd floor.

An office staff was with me when we came up. She helped to open the office door. Just after that, she found something amiss with the security system as the alarm did not sound when she opened the door. She thought someone else had gone in, but there was no one in the office. She then went to the first floor where the main security control was located to check it out. I did not follow and went into the office to the same chair facing the same computer screen, which was a process that i had been repeating for the past one week. Damn, i was quite sick of facing the computer as a matter of fact.

Once down on the chair, my hand started to type on the keyboard. Looking at the namelist on my manpower list, i typed in the names of those attending and helping out in the carnival onto a certificate designed by me and edited by Jinguang (Vice Chairperson of the carnival) and Dr. Ken (Chairman of Tampines East CC Youth Executive Committee). A lot of changes had been made to my original design before a satisfactory one is being born. That was quite some work done. Anyway, thanks to the help provided by Desmond, Esther, Jin Kai, Yi Kai and some other people who helped me along the way. I can't really remember who helped me along the way, because i was quite busy until i don't remember who helped me.

Anyway, i went down to help Haunted House because i felt that Haunted House should be at my highest priority at that moment because they were only allowed to set up their scenes on the day itself. The moment i stepped into the Haunted House, i felt like i was in a studio with the studio crews moving and setting up the scene. Everyone was given a part to do and they were giving in their best to get things done the best possible. Then, Desmond joined in. We began to discuss about the layout of the Haunted House. Then we discovered that the space near the entrance was brightly lit and the light could not be switched off due to some reasons. It can only be switched off by a technician. Anyway, the both of us thought of an idea and used a very long black cloth and made an entrance just after the light, blocking as much light as possible. It worked and the both of us felt a sense of achievement, and the Haunted House crew were also very glad.

It was then the Singapore Poly Leo Club volunteers contacted me about their arrival. I went down to Lobby and started to assign them to go to their respective allocations. Then, i brought those who were assigned securities into the Control and started my briefing. Just when my briefing ended, the first aid team arrived, led by Weiling, SP Leo president. i then started the first aiders' briefing. Just before that, i asked Michael, Security IC, to bring the guys around. Just when my briefing ends, they returned. Then i took the first aid team around.

Backstabbers Spotted!!!

Somehow, before i started working, i had this naive thought that friends are those who will always support you at all times. But ever since i started working after my 'O'-levels, i discovered that my thought had sabotaged me. I was stabbed in the back all the time and was unable to get a pay raise while the others had their pay raised fast. That was the time when i started to believe that the world is too hideous for me to know. I quitted the job knowing that i was backstabbed for the 6 months i had been working there.

Soon, i was in poly and i met another new group of friends. They let me feel that i should start believing in friends again. BUT, after a while, i met backstabbers again. How come my life is full of backstabbers? I really wonder if i am meant to be backstabbed. I dislike backstabbing others, but when i knew of others backstabbing me, i have this urge to backstab them back. I consider this as retaliation. But i have a conscience of not doing so as it makes me part of them.

But i have friends who are very supportive of me. I really appreciate their efforts and support. Really...a very BIG thanks to you guys who walked me through the dark moments and giving me support all the way. I will make sure your efforts will not go down to the drains. I will stand firm to my ways of life and will turn around and fight these backstabbers. No matter whether it is political or what-so-ever...i will FIGHT!

Bored Life, No Life

Everyday I faced the cold hard computer...doing projects or trying to do project...nothing else to do...

Just a few days ago, on the 3rd Dec (Sat), i attended the People Association Youth Movement(PAYM) Convention at Suntec. Gurmit Singh was the host for that event...I had quite some fun, especially during the tea-break and dinner time where great food was served...

During dinner, the YEC group that i represented and i took a group photo with Gurmit. After that, we went to Carrefour to look for christmas decors to be put up in Tampines East CC lobby...

Now, i am feeling low because i do not know whether the girl has any feelings or me...my heart is cold and crammy...i feel very stressed about all the things that are happening around me...the pressure from all my commitments with emotions adding fuel to fire...

Man Down!!

Damn...yesterday one of my Aikido members got himself injured during training...

Blood coming out from his eyes and nose...although not that serious...but he felt very giddy...

Just in case...me and two guys brought him down to the nearest clinic in Clementi in Sensei's car...(that was the first time i sat in Sensei's car sia...)but driven by my friend...

Anyway, when we reached clementi...we went the wrong direction and ended up going one whole circle before we finally found the car park that leads to the 24-hour clinic...but after he vomited due to the giddiness which was made worse by the vibration of the car...

When we finally assisted him into the clinic, what shocked me was...the doctor's not in till quite some time...and that for my friend's case we have to send him to the nearest Hospital A&E...holy crap...after so much work...

No choice, i got my friend to drive Sensei's car back and the other friend to assist me...he went to hail a cab while i stayed with my friend...however, some cabs hailed zoomed off before my friend can even finished telling them where we were heading...

Finally, after some time hailing cabs, we finally got one...

We called his guardians (because he is a foreign student on student visa) and told them about his condition on our way to Alexandra Hospital...

When we reached...it took us quite a long procedure before we can finally know his condition...2 examinations,2 X-rays,4 or more consultation by both A&E doctors and eye-care specialist...that was hell of a lot of procedures...

However, i discovered an amazing fact...Alexandra Hospital had lots of backdoors...haha...i can see one staff entering Door A and the next moment the same staff entering Door A again...

Finally...after consulting the eye-care specialist...he was told that the bone around his lower right eye might be fractured and needed an operation which was not urgent...and was told to be warded for further observation...At first he did not agreed...but he later agreed after his giddiness did not subside...

Before long...i left the hospital...hope he is alright...

Post Camp STAR

Finally, the camp is over...haha...so very tired...for the past few days(nights) of the camp i had slept less than 10 hours...

Camp STAR is a sports camp in Ping Yi Sec, organized by Tampines East CC YEC...it was quite fun and i get to know a lot of new frenz...

Still can remember very clearly how me and my fellow facilitators played floorball...we used the floorball sticks as billiard sticks...haha...the instructors can do nothing bout it...

My yellow team, who called themselves Ronaldo came in first in the overall results...that was shiok sia...we all thought we were goin to lose...but it turned out the way round...

We worked damn hard for the STOMP Performance...and we made it through in the end...and we made it quite fun too...

Somehow, after the camp, i kinda miss the fun i had in the camp...through there were some times that some bad things happened...if possible i think i will put up some photos that were took during the camp...
